As power densities in semiconductors increase, the demand for "Active Die-Casting" is rising. Stpete is currently developing hybrid heat sinks that combine die-cast aluminum frames with embedded copper heat pipes and vapor chambers. This "Information Gain" in thermal engineering allows for heat dissipation levels previously only achievable with expensive liquid cooling setups.
